A very heartfelt birthday wish to my firstborn son, Nathan Xavier, who turns 8 years old today. Well, to be precise, at 11:09am today, he will be 8 years old officially!
For Nathan, it’s a hugely exciting occasion, celebrating his birthday. It’s fun and happy and he gets to be spoiled and treated as though he’s King for a Day! His daddy will take him to the chocolate house and he will mostly likely get Jimmy Johns for his birthday dinner. He took homemade cupcakes to school today and he will be going to the waterpark on Saturday to celebrate his birthday with the people that love and care for him.
For me, it’s a very emotional and proud day. I reflect back to the day of Nathan’s birth. Arriving at the hospital at 530am not knowing what to expect and a little scared.
You were a tiny boy, 6 pounds 11 ounces and 19” long. He lied all snugged in my arms sleeping, then these 2 blue eyes ( which didn’t stay) opened up and look straight at me, at that moment my heart melted and I felt an amazing connection between me and my little boy.
Here is a little poem I came up with for my little man.
“No matter who you become
I will always remember you like today
So forgive me if I struggle
To recognize the man you will become
But I’m just a mom
Trying to hold onto the memory
Of my sweet little boy”.
Nathan, I wish you all the happiness in the universe, for now and always. You are my heart and soul and everything in my life revolves around you, Izabella and the new baby. You guys are my world and I would do anything for you guys. We may not see eye to eye all the time, especially when you are older but know this, I only did or do what I think is best for you at the time. I may not like what you do or may experience but know that your daddy and I are always here for you three, no matter what it maybe. I love you three to the moon and back!
Happy birthday my handsome, precious, incredible, loving, caring little boy. <3
